Structural engineering design for the renovation and extension of a historic High Street property, including complex structural alterations to create new retail space, escalators and a glazed lift shaft.
Project Overview
This end terrace property has been renovated to facilitate an extension to the Marks & Spencer high street store. The structural challenges of the design included the removal of the load bearing granite party wall and the creation of an atrium void to accommodate escalators. In addition new staircases and a glazed lift shaft were installed.
